In the book, “How To Be A Mental Health Savage” Tami Odimayo challenges his readers to “Name a trigger you have discovered recently and share using #DiscoverYourTrigger!”
This holiday season I encourage you all to consider this challenge in your response for the holidays. This can be a challenging year and if we lack an understanding for what it is impacting us and the trigger it will be difficult to overcome the challenges.
One of the ways AIJ challenges you to take this further is by taking advantage of our guide linked below, “Self-Response Plan for Triggers” this resource will allow you to consider your discovered trigger and take awareness one step forward and identify three healthy ways to reparent your response in a healthy manner.
In the book, “How To Be A Mental Health Savage” Tami Odimayo challenges his readers to “Share a message of empowerment to your followers P.S. it is not recommended that you share your trauma to your followers. Just a message of empowerment.” #FaceYourTrauma
When facing trauma it can sometimes feel like it is happening again. Check out the informational sheet provided below to learn more about how you can mindfully cope while facing your trauma.
In the book, “How To Be A Mental Health Savage” Tami Odimayo challenges his readers to “Take a picture of items that help with your sleep routine and use #SleepRoutine.”

PSA: Happiness is an emotion!
Challenge: What it is that you need. (Hint: It’s probably not happiness)
When we begin searching for ”happiness” this is typically a sign that we have a need and it has gone unfulfilled.
The holidays and the commercialization of Christmas can sometimes be a distraction and can create a sense of fulfillment.
Ask yourself, is it true authentic joy, love, and long-term fulfillment?
PSA: Yearning for happiness can be caused by nostalgia!
Definition: ”A sentimental longing or wistful affection for the past, typically for a period or place with happy personal associations.”
Challenge: Identify the former place, time, or event that you are yearning for and consider writing about it, recreating it, or sharing your feelings about it with someone.
PSA: This can be a challenging time and could increase the likelihood of you self-sabotaging your happiness!
Things to consider about your thoughts, behaviors, and feelings at this time.
Are you only doing things for others right now?
Are you having trouble enforcing boundaries and saying no when you have commitments to yourself?
Is your energy depleted and if so how can you replenish it?
AIJ will be spending the next 12 days of our Insightmas Campaign expressing gratitude and giving!
We would love for you all to be apart of the work we are doing in the community! We have gathered some members of our community already and have put together a plan to deliver care packages this Saturday!
At this time our care package team is reaching out to you all to gather more materials!
We are accepting all donations! Please DM, comment, or email us if you would like to contribute! 🥰
Our first care package team member that we are expressing gratitude for today is Neelam!
Neelam has a Bachelor’s in Health Science: Occupational Safety and Health. She aspires to be a Public Health Nurse and will be attending nursing school in the fall.
She wants to educate and teach at-risk populations disease prevention by incorporating healthy lifestyle choices.
We are so thankful for the contribution she has made to our community, and the time she has committed to help us carry out our care package plans.
Thank you, Neelam!
Today we express gratitude for this beautiful and compassionate family apart of our care package team. They have been so involved with AIJ since learning about our mission and participating in our Black-owned business giveaway in July.
We appreciate the commitment that comes from all our community members and those who believe in our mission.
Thank you to the Seng family for your generous contribution to this round of care packages.
We are beyond thankful for this non-profit organization located in the Heart of our community and a part of our care package team!
Hope 4 the Heart is on a mission to improve the well-being of every family they serve by alleviating hunger and improving nutrition.
They have been a blessing in this round of care packages as we were able to offer more options for food this round of care packages with their support.
Thank you, Hope 4 the Heart. Your contributions have been overwhelmingly appreciated and of substantial value. We are grateful that you believe in our mission and were able to make arrangements to help us in our efforts.
Our final care package team member is the founder of Black-owned business Pure Royal Collections and a UC Berkeley graduate with a Bachelors of Arts in Psychology.
Adesuwa Ogbeide has committed her time and efforts to the foundational planning of this round of care packages. We are thankful for her business’s monetary donation that allowed us to buy 50 blankets for this round of care packages and other essential materials.
Thank you, Adesuwa, for being a partner and contributor to this care package team!
Good morning and hallelujah!
We are overwhelmed with joy in our hearts nothing could have prepared us for this second round of care packages. Many volunteers joined the team after announcing this work publicly to you all and we are grateful!
We were able to pass out care packages and other essential items to over 100 individuals yesterday and it is important we all know how possible that was because of the community that came together to donate time, money, or materials!
Thank you so much to all of you for your support and stay tuned our third round of care packages will be in the works before you know it! 🙏🥰💕
