Today’s focus day for National Health Center Week is Health Center Staff Appreciation Day. This focus area is important because it allows us to foster a conversation around the value of having health center staff and volunteers give their time and heart to providing services to patients and the community. Without them, community Health Centers would not exist.
Neelam Benoit has a Bachelor’s in Health Science: Occupational Safety and health and will be applying for her Bachelor’s in Nursing in the fall.
She aspires to become a Public Health Nurse. Watch this video clip to learn more about her desire to be in the medical field and her passion for the community.
Our younger generation must begin to identify if the medical field is something they would be passionate about and, if so, become the next generation of health care workers.
It is essential to have people of color in our healthcare systems to ensure recognition and culturally appropriate care.
