C.A.R.R.E. Campaigns

Insightmas

Every December, platforms around the world celebrate a something-mas. This year, An Insightful Journey launched the Insightmas Campaign. For 25 days in December, we highlighted all things mental health through our efforts to C.A.R.R.E. Insightmas, a campaign full of insights and giveaways, promotes mental health awareness. An Insightful Journey recognizes everyone celebrates the holidays differently, and this time of year can be joyful or challenging for some. So, we hope this campaign can promote healing during the holidays to make supportive decisions that are best for the mind, body, and soul.

Black Health and Healing Matters

The value of storytelling is vital to the human experience. Through storytelling, people become connected, knowledgeable, and inspired. One of the areas we have focused on is providing members of the Black community a platform to share their stories around social injustice and how they have healed or coped with these experiences. This work has bridged a gap between self and community, allowing both individuals to share their stories and those listening to feel empowered.

Milking Mommies

“On August 6, 2011, the United States Breastfeeding Committee (USBC) officially declared that August is National Breastfeeding Month. USBC’s role is to advance breastfeeding on our Nation’s agenda through collaboration, leadership, and advocacy, so that all U.S. families will have the opportunity to breastfeed” (Source: usbreastfeeding.org).

In August we took  time to celebrate and amplify the voices of breastfeeding mothers! We posted shared stories from mother’s who have breastfed throughout the month. These interviews are meant to spread awareness around the challenges and beauty of breastfeeding. We hope that our efforts can be a part of protecting, promoting, and supporting breastfeeding worldwide.

National Health Center Week

National Health Center Week August 9-15th is an annual celebration to raise awareness about the mission and accomplishments of America’s health centers over the past five decades. This year’s theme is “Lighting the way for healthier communities today and in the future.”

An Insightful Journey has collaborated with Administrative Assistant Patricia Gutierrez at La Clinica de La Raza’s School-Based Health Centers to host virtual events throughout the week, highlighting the mission and accomplishments of the School-Based Health Centers. To receive mental health services, people need to have access to healthcare. When we look at marginalized individuals, groups, and communities, they are not always afforded healthcare due to social issues. When there is access, it is not always quality primary and preventative care or has limitations and restrictions. Inaccessibility is problematic because mental health issues can lead to physical health issues and vise versa.
